Karina, prefix Steinvig's, has desided to stop breeding for now, due to personal reasons, and she told me that she wanted to find a new home for Sarabi and her mother, Zazu.

Allan and I desided that we would like to take in both cats, and they have been living with us since March 2004.

Zazu became a mother to her first litter in our cattery on February 12. 2005. Thsi will also be her only litter, because we think that the delivery was to hard on her. The birth itself actually went well, the kittens fell down as they should, came down and was ready to be born, but Zazu had a hard time getting wide enough, just before the kittens were about to be delivered and we won't submit her to that experienc again. Perhaps the fact that she's 7 years old and has only had 1 litter prior to this one, made it hard for her to be wide enough and perhaps next time the delivbery would be easier.

We have consulted several vets regarding Zazus last and very trying birth, among others the very famous Dr. Susan Little from Canada, when she gave a seminar in Denmark in April 2005. After consulting especially Susan Little, we have desided that Zazu will have one more litter of kittens, in 2006, and the proud dad will be Ferris.

Zazu will be neutered in the near future. The reason is that she got a really bad pyrometra 14 days after she was mated to Ferris, a pyro she's still being treated for and which we hope we'll have under control very soon.

Zazu kept figthing the uterus infection but after almost 2 months, we had to reaslise that it was time to let Zazu go. Even though Zazu was treated with antibiotics, she became weaker and weaker as time passed by. Not to long ago she was seen by the vets, again, and they noticed that her kidneys were noticable bigger that at ehr last visit. When the other internal organs is getting affected by a uterus infection, the prognosis gets very poor and we could see how Zazus health kept deteriarate. The last 2 days Zazu only slept, she didn't want food or water:-( Given the fact that Zazu herself stoped
figthing, we deside, along with the vet, that it was time to give Zazu peace.

Zazu, we will miss your always loving and kind spirit, and the way your would push to us with your head, when ever you felt that we needed some encouragment and love....
