I have known Kim and her owners for many years and it is with great joy and pride we welcomes Kim into our family. Birgitte, who used to own Kimmi, had desided to stop breeding Norwegian Forest Cats, but didn't want to "just" give Kim or her other Norwegian Forest Cats to "any body". We are there for very happy with the fact that we were given the cats by Birgitte and Sten. The 4 cats we were given didn't come all at once though:-), but were given to us over months, because it can be rather difficult to implement adult cats into an excisting group of cats. Both our cats and "the four" from Truetrust made the transission without any fuss at all:-)

Kimmi is a very affectionate and sweet cat. She socialises with the other cats without making to much out of herself and humans is simply just loved by her:-) The dogs are "okay", but Ida, our new, young puppy, is to much of a puppy, especially now when Kim has kittens, which means that she is told very firmly by Kimmi when ever she needs to be put into her right place.

We have showed Kim once after she has moved into our house and she behaved just as good as the times I have seen her at shows, before she moved in with us, so this is something we plan to repeat in the future, when her kittens has left her and she has gotten back into show condition. The father of Kimmis litter is Leo and we are very happy with the 2 kittens they have had together!

Unfortunately we wasn't given much time with Kim:-( After her kittens had move on to their new homes, she still looked awfully sick and we talked to her former owner about her condition and according to Birgitte, it was normal for Kim to take her time, coming back into full conditin after a litter of kittens. We desided to give her more time and since Kim was eating with her usual appitit and otherwise behaving as she had done from day 1 in our home, no alarms were ringing in our heads to warn us that there was something seriously wrong with her. We talked to the vets about our concern, but they felt the same way as we did, that we should wait and see how things would develop.

One morning we found Kim dead in the living room:-( We drove her to our vet who chose to perform an immidiate autopsy, because he wanted to see if he could see for himself what had been wrong with her and he found that Kim was filled with cancer in her whole body:-( The vet said that Kim must have had cancer for at least 6 months, perhaps even longer, pending on wether or not her pregnancy had posponed or progressed the cancer. The vet also said that she must have had a good life in our home, because she had shown no signs what so ever of how ill she really was. We only shared our lifes with Kim for just about 1 year, but she will never be forgotten...
