Champagne's
mother,
Dana, came to be mated all
the way from England, but when Dana's former owner suddenly decided
that she didn't
wanted her to return home after all, it left us in a very difficult
situation. We chose to make the best of a bad situation and decided
that we want to keep one of he kittens from the combination. All the
killens from the litter had a very nice temperament and it wasn't
difficult to keep our lovely Champagne:-) Of course Champagne's isn't
to blame that her former turned out to be a poor owner and we are so
thrilled about sharing our lives with Champagne:-)
Champagne will be tested for all
the things we test our breeding animals for before using them in our
breeding program before joining it. But for now we just want her to
grow and develop her personality.
Update on 03.17.10
Champagne will not be used in our breeding program in 2010. Even
though her values are normal for HCM, the difference in two of the
values are to high to be consider normal when using the standard for
when a cat is normal for HCM. She will be re-scanned in 2011 and the
size of the values at that time will then determan whether or not she
can be used for breeding.
