Already when I planed the breeding between the parents of the A2-litter, I KNEW that I wanted to keep a kitten for myself and preferably a female, since I have enough males at the moment:-) Fortunately 2 females were born and since the whole litter generally looked very nice, it was a little bit difficult for me to deside which female I wanted to keep for myself. However Adrina got booked very quickly, by a foreign breeder, but when she desided that she would rather buy a black male, I began to think about keeping both females myself. And I ended up doing just that:-)

Arista is a typical naughty norwegian forest cat, with her own view on how life`s suppose to be.... However she is in no doubt about who´s the boss (me:-) and is a real cuddler! usually she wants to lie on my lap, when I`m sitting by the computer, answering emails, redoing my homepage or making homework:-) Her favorite place is lying with her hand and back in one of my hands, while the rest of her body lies on my thigh, but that isn`t really good for me, because I need both hands when I`m working on the computer, so we have come to a compromise, so both of us can have a good time together:-)

Arista and the rest of the litter have been shown from time to time and all their results can be seen here!

The plans for Arista is few, yet, but I have made her and her sister, Adrina, ready for Sweden and also shown them a few times in Sweden.

When Arista was scaned for HCM, she was also scaned to see if she's pregnant and she is! So hopefully the 4 kittens that was seen in her will be born in the begining of November.

Unfortunately Arista gave birth 5 days prior to the 63. day:-( Arista has been bred a few times over the Spring/summer of 2005 with Ingjalf, where she didn't become pregnant. When Ingjalf started to show signs of being ill, we toke Arista and put her together with David, because we wanted to see if he could get her pregnant. Because she had been difficult to get pregnant with Ingjalf we wasn't sure that Arista WAS pregnant with David. Even though when looking at hindsight we should have realised that the reason why she had a hard time getting pregnant MIGHT be due to the fact that Ingjalf was ill and therefor couldn't breed with her properly. When Arista was scaned for HCM she was given a mild sedative and the vet thinks that that has had an impact on her kittens and also why they were born primature:-(

Arista was a pro when the kittens were born and had loads of milk for them afterwards.

Arista will be bred to David when she goes into heat again.

Arista and Davids beautifull babies has arrived! Arista has been just as good a mother as her own mother, Duchesse, always were when she had kittens. She's loving and overbearing, but not totally protective of her kittens. As the kittens has gotten more room to roam, she has given them more and more space and not tried to control their every move. It's nice to see so well the motherhood suits Arista.

As part of the HCM project at KVL, some of our cats was asked to come and give bloodsamples and also be scaned for HCM. Arista was one of the cats we entered the project. When she'll be scaned again is not sure, because we don't know yet if she'll be followed through the project at KVL or if she'll be scaned under the "normal" procedures we follow. More info will be added as we get it.

After waiting a long time for the result of the pm, we finally got a copy from the university hospital, but we were and are very disappointed with the report, because they couldn't find the reason why Arista had died:-( Because it was so vital for us to get an answer to her untimely and unexpected dead, we had asked them to spare no effort in searching for the reason and despite the fact that they had send parts of her to specialists they still didn't find the reason why she had died:-( Had they been able to tell us why Arista had died it might have minimized the pain of losing her, but unfortunately this is not the case:-(

Arista-Baby we will meet again, anything else is unthinkable....
